  • 2 B. Birth The top half of this page contains an outline of the stages of labor.
  • Birth Stages Pretty decent overview; brief.
  • Childbirth Introduction An even more basic overview at the same site.
  • COUNTDOWN TO DELIVERY THE STAGES OF LABOR Written for a hospital, so definate "medical orientation," but good.
  • STAGES OF LABOR 1 Great article, though a bit "medical."
  • The Stages of Childbirth Concise, informative, "medical-ish."
• The First Stage (Includes three phases - latent, active, and transitional.)
  • The First Phase Early Labor Decent overview, with tips for handling this phase.
  • The Second Phase Active Labor Ditto. (Same site as above.)
  • The Third Phase Advanced Active or Transitional Labor See above.
  • The First Stage of Labor An excellent description with tips, etc. Written from the hospital viewpoint. (Down last time I tried it.)
• The Second Stage (Pushing and Birth)
  • Second Stage of Labor A good overview. Hospital perspective. (Down last time I tried it.)
