- ASSOCIATION OF RADICAL MIDWIVES A venerable
midwifery organization in England. They publish the journal Midwifery Matters.

- Citizens for Midwifery "Citizens for
Midwifery promotes citizen and consumer awareness of midwifery and childbirth issues
through networking and information sharing."
- Coalition for Improving Maternity Services: CIMS
"...a coalition of individuals and national organizations with concern for the care
and well-being of mothers, babies, and families." Strongly pro-midwife.
- ENB Home page English National Board for Nursing,
Midwifery and Health Visiting. (Didn't know where else to put this one.)
- Homebirth Options Midwifery IndependencE [H.O.M.E] - An organization dedicated to legal

- Hunter Valley Midwives
Association (HVMA) (NSW, Australia.)
- The Kentucky Alliance for
the Advancement of Midwifery Regional, but inspiring. Good info, especially if you're
in the area (and in an "activist" state of mind).

The official site for MANA. Very new, and very much under construction.
- Maryland Friends of Midwives Lots
of great information on this site.
- MFOM - Massachusetts
Friends of Midwives Contains a birthing directory for Massachusetts.
- MIDIRS home page (Midwives
Information and Resource Service.) Their mission is: "To be the central source of
information relating to childbirth and to disseminate this information to midwives and
others both nationally and internationally thereby contributing to the improvement of
maternity care."

Coalition of Nova Scotia Background and contact information for this Canadian

- MIDWIVES ALLIANCE OF

- Midwives In
Private Practice "Midwives In Private Practice began in 1989 as a peer support
and ongoing education group in Victoria, a state located in southeastern Australia. They
now have 22 members." (Includes contact information for the members.)
- Organizations

midwifery organizations, and site hotlinks where applicable.
- The Purple Midwifery Page This
page has regional interests (Ohio legislation), but some lots of good resources and
information. (Not technically an organization, but still highly relevant to Ohio.)
- Tennessee Midwives
Association "The Tennessee Midwives' Association (TMA) is an organization of
direct-entry midwives, certified professional midwives, certified nurse midwives,
childbirth educators and aspiring midwives whose purpose is not only didactic, but one of
fellowship and support."
- Virginia
Birthing Rights Forum "...an effort to decriminalize tradtional midwifery."
