Moon Magic: New Moon

The Dark Moon -when the moon appears totally dark from the earth. This is a time for new beginnings, for uncovering things, and for scrying.

Many would say that it's power covers the three days on either side of the actual Dark Moon. There are two schools of thought concerning magic around the Dark Moon. Some say that this is a time for no magic - as they consider this a time of unrest and "void."(1) Others believe that this is a powerful time for magic. I am of the second school, believing this to be a great time for magic.
